Designing the Botanical Garden of the Indian Republic required us to implement sustainable measures aimed at conveying important scientific, conservation, research, and cultural messages in the realm of environmental education and awareness.
The project entailed the integration of various components, including woodlands, arboreta, water bodies, display sections, experimental plots, and nurseries, all within a sprawling 164.85-acre site. Additionally, certain civil structures were to be strategically incorporated.
Guided by the principles of Vastu Purush Mandala, our design concept revolved around creating conservatories that harmonized seamlessly with nature. Within this framework, three distinct buildings—Temperature House, Cacti House, and Tropical House—were envisioned as structures that not only celebrate the beauty of nature but also exemplify the practical aspects of sustainability in architecture.
